What is Gnosis Bridge actually moving between Ethereum and Gnosis?
Gnosis Bridge moves value or contract instructions between two independent ledgers. A blockchain bridge, meaning a system that transfers assets or information between otherwise separate blockchain ecosystems, is needed because the chains cannot read each other’s state directly. Gnosis Chain uses chain ID 100 and xDAI for ordinary transaction fees; Ethereum assets and Gnosis assets therefore remain separate even when the wallet address is identical.

- Check the received token’s contract address, instead of only its ticker, and confirm there is enough xDAI for the next transaction.
- For a withdrawal to Ethereum, find out whether a claim is still available or needed before considering the transfer complete.
What should be checked before relying on a Gnosis route?
Use the destination application’s needed token contract, keep gas on each side where applicable, and do not send tokens directly to a bridge contract address.
